The World’s First Honey Infused Wine
While the South African wines and honey are world famous and are enjoyed separately, we have produced the world’s first Honey Infused Wine. With numerous experiments and trials over a period of 3 years, we have perfected the technic to successfully infuse the honey into a blend of wines . This resulted in an amazing drink that tones down the sour and bitter taste of wines leaving a tinge of honey taste on the pallet. It is therefore an ideal drink for people new to wines that tastes amazing and healthier than most sweetened alcoholic drinks.
There are 2 groups of Honey Infused Wines – one which is based on red grape varieties and the other white grape varieties. We have also produced Honey Infused wines with different levels of honey to suit different taste for sweetness and therefore suitable for different occasions. The wines must be allowed to breathe for around 40mins and served cold at around 8°C. It can be drunk as a party drink or with food. Honey Infused Red Blend can be served with meats and spicy foods while the White Blend can be served with seafood and other savory dishes.
Working with our highly experienced wine makers and blenders, we will continue to bring out more honey based wine blends to meet the changing consumer landscape, particularly markets where wine consumption is not main stream.
We only used locally produced red and white wines from South Africa including Pinotage, Merlot Cabernet Sauvignon, Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc. The honey we use are also locally produced honey that is pure and natural without added chemicals.
Honey Infused White Blends
This class of wine blends is based on infusing pure and natural honey into white grape varieties such as the Chenin Blanc and Sauvignon Blanc. White wines appears to be less popular in Asia than red wines as most marketing uses red wine images. For example, in China most restaurants who serve wines only serve red wines. However, this new class of honey infused wines taste amazing and we believe that it will do extremely well.
CB40 is a new addition to our family of Honey Infused Wines and is based on the white grape variety Chenin Blanc. Infused with 40g of pure natural honey. The resulting blend is full of floral and honeyed aromas and quince and apple-like flavours with good zippy acidity. The acidity is toned down with infused honey and is therefore less harsh on the pallet.
It should be served cold at around 6-8°C and ideal with seafood and other savory foods.
Honey Infused White Blend SB40
SB40 is a new addition to our family of Honey Infused Wines and is based on the white grape variety Sauvignon Blanc. Infused with 40g of pure natural honey. The resulting blend is light gold in the glass and fragrance of apples, vanilla, white flowers and honey. In the mouth, beautifully textured and well balanced flavors of flowery honey, white flowers and , apples, on the palate. Delicate, with slightly soft and toned down acidity, this wine is quite elegant.
It should be served cold at around 6-8°C and ideal with seafood and other savory foods.
Since we harvest pure natural South African honey for out Honey Infused Wines, we have also bottled them as separate items for the enjoyment of people who appreciates the unique taste and health benefits of South African honey. They are available in bottles of 500g each.
